Emmanuel Thompson is an experienced production engineering professional with over 25 years in the upstream integrated oil and gas industry in Nigeria and the Netherlands. He is a Mechanical Engineer with broad E&P experience in production operations, maintenance, asset management, projects management, front end project development and cost engineering.
Emmanuel started his career with Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited in 1992. Between 1993 and 2014, he worked for Shell Nigeria (SPDC) and the Netherlands Aardoile Maatschappij (NAM), Emmen, Netherlands. Within this time, he held several positions including Production Supervisor, Production Superintendent, Operations Readiness & Assurance Engineer and Cost Ambition Engineer.
He was involved in many Shell Nigeria flagship projects including Soku LNG Gas Supply, Gbaran Phase1, H-Block, EA Further Oil Development, Assa North Domestic Gas, Shell Gabon Toucan Project etc.
Emmanuel joined Eroton Exploration and Production Company, Nigeria in May 2015 as a Field Operations Manager and was promoted to the position of Operations Manager in January 2020 where he heads the company’s production operation and oversees the Port Harcourt Office.
Emmanuel holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt and a Certificate in Leadership Excellence from the London School of Economics (LSE), United Kingdom. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Project Management at the University of Salford, United Kingdom.
He has attended several technical and management programmes in Nigeria, Netherlands, Malaysia, France, Spain, UK and the USA in the area of Leadership, Strategic Thinking, Operational Excellence, HSE, Quality Management, Crisis Management and Emergency Response.
He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
